| Shutter Island is a yet to be released American action thriller film slated to be released by the end of the year 2009. It is the fourth film in a row with Leonardo DiCaprio, the earlier one were gang of New York, the aviator and the last one the departed, director Martin Scorsese teams up with Leonardo. Mark Ruffallo and veteran actor in his own class Ben Kingsley, British actor who claimed best actor Oscar award for his highly appreciated role of Gandhi, which was directed by none other than Richard Attenborough claiming more than 12 Oscar’s nominations. Movie starts with the the story of two US marshals’ Teddy and Chuck (Dicaprio and Ruffalo respectively) just in from Seattle, is assigned to investigate the miraculous disappearance of the patient from the hospital. It is presumed that the patient who escaped is the criminal murderess for the criminally insane, and is hiding on the remote Shutter Island. Shutter Island is a land with the combination of prison and hospital with the maximum security for the criminally insane. The law enforcement officials are assigned to investigate the mysterious disappearance of the convict named Rachel Solando who mercilessly killed her three children by drowning them and then sharing the breakfast with them in the kitchen. Both the US marshals wonder how could a woman escape from the third floor of the prison in spite of being heavily guarded by the security wardens round the clock, and the island has no hideaways and it is almost impossible for the convict to swim all the way from the shutter island to the main land of Masshcuehetts.Both the investigating marshals predicts a hurricane approaching and would completely destroy the shutter island separating it from the main island. They begin the find the evidence about illegal drug and medical therapy, uncovering the sinister and unconventional ways of the treatments meted out in the hospital cum prison and also pondering whether they would get out of the island alive. Both the Marshalls are met with Dr Cawley played by Ben Kingsley who tells the orderly to show the place from where the culprit escaped. The orderly shows them the room which was locked; tiny room had one window with every guard physically present there at every curve. Teddy without hesitation suspects an inside job and the willing co-operation of the staff, since the photo of the murderess shows a beautiful woman. Plenty of actions and deep mysteries entangled within each other flashback showing the nostalgic moments of Teddy thinking about his deceased wife who was killed in a fire.
